Tech company Aurora Innovation is teaming up with two car companies to speed up the process of bringing self-driving cars to the road. The company is collaborating with Volkswagen. They’re working on integrating Aurora’s self-driving system, which includes Machine Learning and AI technology, into Volkswagen vehicle platforms. Aurora is also partnering with Hyundai. They hope to develop Level 4 Autonomous Vehicles by 2021. Hyundai’s newest fuel-cell vehicle will be the first model in the testing process later this year. It will make its official global debut at CES 2018 next week.
INFINITI is giving us a look at what the future could look like. This is their first image of the new Q Inspiration Concept. They say it combines “classical sedan forms” with an “elongated silhouette”. INFINITI says as powertrains become more compact, there will be more room in the cabin. We’ll see the concept in person when it debuts at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit later this month.
