The holidays are a time of joy and merriment. They’re also a time to be in our feels, and sometimes that’s really, really depressing.We’re not going to get all sappy on you, but even car folks shed a tear from time to time. Usually it’s from banging our fingers against the inner wall of a steel fender, sometimes it’s from selling off that project you swore you’d never sell, and every so often it’s because of a commercial. You know, a real tear-jerker.

Chevrolet has chopped the proverbial onions right in front of us a number of times now, and today they’ve aired their 2023 A Holiday to Remember longform TV spot.

This isn’t the first time Chevrolet has put out a holiday ad. Their previous Holiday Ride spot had it all– a daughter attached to her parent’s classic Impala convertible, a team of dedicated townsfolk banding together to perfect the ultimate holiday gift for a grieving father, and a dog.

Of course, Chevy isn’t the only brand to tug at the heartstrings through clever advertisements. There are plenty of ads– holiday themed or not, happy or sad– made by car companies that tell a much prettier story than low interest rates and zero cash-down deals. If you’ve got some time to kill (and are totally not running down the clock on your last shift before Thanksgiving), this may just send you down the rabbit hole of iconic car commercials.
