Some automotive naming conventions are a little whack, but most, like Cadillac’s IQ lineup, are simple enough to follow; in this case, “IQ” referring to the brand’s all-electric portfolio (see: VISTIQ, OPTIQ, LYRIQ). Their full-size, three-row Escalade utility needs little introduction, and it too has received the battery-electric IQ treatment.

If the Escalade IQ wasn’t quite big enough for you, a new IQL variant is on the way. And as far as naming conventions go, “L” is a pretty simple one to guess.

The big appeal to the IQL is an elongated side profile, now 228.5 inches, an increase of roughly 4 inches; though, the wheelbase has remained the same at 136.2 inches, as has width, height and ground clearance. More length translates to more space inside, specifically third-row legroom, now 36.7 inches, a sizable uptick of more than 4 inches, with an inch of extra headroom. And unsurprisingly, cargo volume has increased behind all rows, now 24.2 cu-ft behind the third row and up to 125.2 cubes with both rearward rows folded.

Beyond that, most things remain the same. Performance is still rated up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft with “Velocity Max” mode engaged, sourced from two electric motors powered by a 205-kWh lithium-ion battery. Despite the growth, Cadillac is still estimating 460 miles of range.

You can expect all similar luxuries Cadillac is known for outfitting the Escalade with. Standard is a 21-speaker AKG Studio sound system, upgradable to a 38-speaker arrangement; GM’s hands-free Super Cruise system is thrown in; and an available Executive Second Row package adds massaging and climate-controlled seats, wireless device chargers, and 12.6-inch screens while also expanding that AKG to a 42-speaker array. Up front, a 55-inch screen curves from A-pillar to A-pillar.

Before adding destination, the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL starts at $132,695, available in four trims.
