Volkswagen will showcase its new production-ready ID.3 all-electric compact family car at the upcoming 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. This is the first vehicle to be built on the new modular MEB architecture. VW claims the top model with a 77 kWh battery pack will have a range of about 342 miles between charges. That is more range than any other compact EV to date. Two smaller battery packs will also be offered. VW also says that with the proper fast charger the ID.3 can be recharged in 30 minutes with enough energy to have a range of 180 miles.
