Toyota has added a new SX Package for the 2023 Tundra SR5.

This cosmetic package substitutes many of the black trim pieces for body-matched alternatives-- like the door handles and rear inboard bumper. Tundra’s equipped with the SX Package can be finished in one of four colors: White, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, and Midnight Black Metallic.

The Tundra badges have been removed for a cleaner look, though 4x4 models get a blacked-out badge. All four corners are carried by Dark Gray Metallic 18-inch wheels. The interior sees minor adjustments with black accents replacing many of the SR5’s smoked silver trims.

In many ways, the SX Package is akin to the Nightshade treatment seen on other Toyota vehicles, like the Camry, Corolla, and now Venza. Nightshade, as the name suggests, provides a blacked-out aesthetic through darkened trim pieces, coverings and wheels.

The SX can be added to SR5 4x2’s or 4x4’s; Double Cabs with the 6.5-foot bed and CrewMax models with the 5.5-foot bed. It will still utilize the SR5’s standard i-FORCE 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, producing 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

Exact pricing on the 2023 Tundra SR5, as well as the SX Package, are yet to be disclosed; however, Tundra stated the new option would offer “an updated appearance without a hefty price tag.”
