Subaru has announced the 2023 Solterra SUV, their first all-electric SUV, will make it's stateside debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17th.

The Solterra is built upon the e-Subaru Global Platform, the brand’s all-electric vehicle architecture. It will feature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and active safety technology packaged in an off-road capable package. Subaru claims the Solterra to be their most advanced Subaru yet.

Teaser images show sharp edges around the front and rear of the vehicle, with matte black fenders on either end. The interior remains largely unknown, but is touted by Subaru as “quiet, spacious and comfortably equipped with all the cabin technology you need for a modern SUV.”

The name Solterra is derived from the Latin words “sun” (sol) and “Earth” (terra), a nod to the vehicle’s eco-friendly and all-road design.
