Car lovers will be turning their attention to Monterey, California in a few weeks. Some of the vehicles that graced the silver screen will be part of the excitement. The Petersen Automotive Museum will bring seven Hollywood star cars and custom hot rods to the world-famous Monterey Car Week. Guests of The Quail will get a close up view of celebrated rides like the time machine from 1985 film “Back to the Future” and the 1989 Batmobile from Tim Burton’s film adaptation of “Batman”. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will feature one of the Petersen’s most historic custom hot rods… the 1959 “Outlaw” custom car built by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth.
The Petersen Automotive Museum was founded in 1994 to preserve the history of the automobile in Southern California. Executive Director Terry L. Karges says, “Our selection of display vehicles for 2019 is set to be one of the most exciting groups we’ve ever sent to Monterey”. Monterey Car Week runs from August 9-17, 2019.
