Ram has added another model to their 1500 pickup line: the TRX Sandblast Edition, making its way into the 2022 model year lineup.

As the name implies, the TRX Sandblast Edition appears to be Ram’s desert runner, thanks to an exclusive appointment of certain design elements, technology and performance. The Sandblast builds off of the already-impressive Ram 1500 TRX, rivaling trucks such as Ford’s F-150 Raptor.

This model is powered by the TRX’s supercharged HEMI V8, displacing the same 6.2-liters of muscle seen in the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats. The “standard” TRX flexes 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, and we suspect it to be the same for the Sandblast. When we tested the 2021 TRX last season, that equated to a 0-60 mph time of 3.8-seconds and a quarter-mile time 12.3-seconds at 110 mph. Again, we suspect the Sandblast’s figures to be similar.

The exterior is defined by a unique Mojave Sand paint contrasted by blacked out trim pieces and bespoke graphics. All four corners ride on 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels, also black. It’s outfitted with the same ventilated hood, black fender flares and grille as the standard TRX. A dual pane panoramic sunroof is also present, along with spray-in bedliner and cargo tie downs in back.

The cabin is mostly black with Light Frost accent stitching, unique carbon fiber accents, unique center console badging, and special TRX seatback logos. The 2022 Sandblast Edition is based on the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group, hosting a variety of premium accouterments: a Head-Up display, heated flat bottom steering wheel, digital rearview mirror,  19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and heated second-row seats, among others.

The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast Edition will start at $100,080, barely reaching the six-digits due to its $1,795 destination fee. It's expected to reach dealerships this summer.
