Jaguar has revealed their first all-electric production vehicle the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE. The five-seat SUV was unveiled in a live webcast from the vehicle’s manufacturing facility in Graz, Austria. MotorWeek was among the first to see the concept before it’s reveal at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. Two electric motors, one on each axle, will provide all-wheel drive performance with a 240-mile all-electric range. Sales begin later this year. As for the price… we’ll have to wait for that at the Jaguar I-PACE public debut at the Geneva International Motor Show next week.
After a few days of teasing, GMC has revealed the redesigned 2019 Sierra Denali and SLT. The premium pickup gets an expanded powertrain lineup. There are new versions of the 6.2-liter and 5.3-liter V-8 engines. An all-new 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel engine is also available. A MultiPro tailgate, carbon fiber pickup box, and ProGrade trailering system add to the truck capabilities.
The process is moving fast forward to solidify the alliance among Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi. They’ve announced efforts are underway to converge key parts of their operations including engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing. Renault and Nissan have been doing this for four years. The plan will bring Mitsubishi Motors into more of the alliance’s operations beginning in April. Mitsubishi will be fully part of the alliance’s engineering and manufacturing starting in 2019.
