The Nissan LEAF all-electric compact has been refreshed for the 2023 model year, including an updated design inside and out, new standard technology, and a more straightforward lineup.

For the new model year, the LEAF will now be offered in two models: the LEAF S and LEAF SV PLUS. Both of these will sport a redesigned front end, including the fascia, grille and headlights. The LEAF S will start at $28,895 after adding on Nissan’s $1,095 destination fee and before considering the potential $7500 federal tax credit.

The LEAF S is packaged with a 40kWh battery, providing enough juice for 149 miles of range on a full charge. Stepping up to the LEAF SV PLUS means a 60kWh battery, good for 212 miles of range. This model also calls for a bump up in price, starting at $36,895.

Other changes made to the LEAF include new optional 17-inch wheels, Nissan’s latest badging and some seating adjustments. The S sports black cloth seats with gray finishers; the SV PLUS sports gloss black finishers instead. All models come standard equipped with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360, boasting six active driver assistance technologies. The SV PLUS will include ProPILOT Assist and Intelligent Around View Monitor.

The 2023 Nissan LEAF is assembled in Smyrna, Tennessee, and is available for purchase now.
