New Auto Brand VANTAS Announced, Will Build Cars In the U.S. for Sale In North America
HAAH Automotive Holdings has announced the creation of a new auto brand to be called VANTAS. The new automaker will produce and sell a full line of vehicles in the the U.S. based on existing designs from Chery, a leading Chinese manufacturer of cars, SUVs and electric vehicles. The first VANTAS models will be based on Chery's Exeed premium SUV platform. Model specifics have not yet been announced, although engineering development for U.S. homologation has already begun. HAAH's 100% cloud-based data management system is expected to offer a new, transparent, customer-friendly selling process, faster handling of customer purchase and service issues and more efficient parts handling. Duke Hale, HAAH CEO, is a former CEO of Lotus Cars USA and Lotus Engineering, and has held executive positions at Isuzu, Volvo, Mazda, Jaguar and Land Rover. The new company is based in Irvine, California.
