A premium truck is joining the herd of workhorses.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled not one, but two pickup truck concepts.  The midsize trucks will bear the badge X-Class.  Powerful Adventurer may be more recognizable to diehard pickup truck drivers, while the Stylish Explorer will offer a premium ride with versatility for an active lifestyle.

Automotive News is reporting the X-Class will share underpinnings with the Nissan NP300/Navara and Renault Alaskan. They say it will be built by Nissan in Spain and by Renault in Argentina.

Automotive News reports key markets for the X-Class include Europe, Latin America and Australia.  They say whether the truck will be sold in the United States is still being decided.

The Mercedes-Benz X-Class is expected to go on sale next year.
