Mazda Releases Pricing for 2022 CX-30; New Carbon Edition Model
Mazda has announced pricing and trim options for the 2022 CX-30 SUV, including a new Carbon Edition model.
After destination fees, the CX-30 starts at $23,425 for the “2.5 S” trim. It is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, putting down 186 horsepower and 186 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the same power plant used on all of the CX-30’s naturally aspirated models, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Standard on all CX-30’s is Mazda’s i-Activ all-wheel drive system, as well as Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control Plus and Off-Road Traction Assist.Standard safety features include Radar Cruise Control, Smart Brake Support, High Beam Control, and Lane Departure and Keep Assists. The interior utilizes an 8.8-inch infotainment display with Mazda Connect services, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. A seven-inch LCD instrument panel is also included.
Other trims include the 2.5 S Select, Preferred, and Premium models, each adding more features on its predecessor. Most notably, the Select adds roof rails, Blind Spot Monitoring and turn signal door mirrors; the Preferred adds heated front seats and a power moonroof; the Premium adds a 12-speaker Bose sound system, paddle shifters, a power liftgate, and additional safety features. Each step-up in trim adds approximately $2,000 to the price.
A new 2.5 S Carbon Edition starts at $29,515. This trim is only available in the special Polymetal Gray exterior paint, with red leather seats and interior trimmings accenting the cabin. Gloss-black wheels and mirror caps are also included. While Mazda has released various models in their special Carbon Edition, this is the first year the CX-30 receives the same treatment. This trim builds off of the 2.5 S Preferred trim.
Turbo-holics will be able to outfit their 2022 CX-30 in an aptly-named series of Turbo trims: The 2.5 Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. They are powered by Mazda’s Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, which is capable of 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft. of torque on premium fuel.
Turbo models start at $31,425, and include special “TURBO” badging, black wheels and mirror caps, and interior chrome accents. The Turbo Premium includes features comparable to the 2.5 S Premium; the Turbo Premium Plus adds a 360-degree View Monitor, Rear Direction Base Safety, Rear Cross Traffic sensing, and various other convenience features.
The 2022 CX-30 is expected to arrive on dealer lots early next month, available in both it's naturally aspirated and turbocharged variants.
