Land Rover Celebrates Defender’s 30th Anniversary with Limited Edition Tribute
Land Rover will celebrate 3 decades of Defender with a special edition 2023 model, aptly named the Land Rover Defender 30th Anniversary Edition.
Land Rover’s Defender series has been offered in the North American market for 30 years, and this new model will show that through special paint and bespoke parts. Limited to just 500 units, these Defenders, based on the 2023 model year P300 S, will pay homage to the original 1993 Defender First Edition.
“The Defender 30th Anniversary Edition is a modern classic which pays homage to the heritage of 1993 Defender 110 First Edition,” said Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America. “This Edition celebrates the Defender model legacy here in North America, while offering technology and features that the adventurers of today expect in a new vehicle.”
This tribute model will be finished in Fuji White exterior paint, riding atop matching gloss white wheels; the Cross Car Beam will also be finished in white powder coat. An Expedition Roof Rack, mudflaps front and rear, rubber mats, fixed side steps, a deployable ladder, wheel arch extensions and an A frame are all standard, too. It wouldn’t be a special edition, heritage editage, limited edition, etc, without some sort of unique badging; therefore, a throwback heritage badge will be stuck to the rear tailgate.
Inside, occupants rest on Ebony grained leather seats. The interior is separated by a three-zone climate control system, aided by an air quality sensor and cabin air ionization. An active key, which can be worn like a watch, allows the driver to easily access the vehicle.
The Land Rover Defender 30th Anniversary Edition is priced starting at $76,350, which includes the $1,350 destination fee.
