Chinese-Built Utility Scores Well in Crash Tests
The new Buick Envision crossover utility, the first Chinese-built vehicle sold in the U.S., has impressed the crash test experts at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The IIHS says the Buick Envision earned good ratings across the board for crashworthiness. So good, the IIHS says the new midsize utility qualifies for their Top Safety Pick award.
The IIHS says vehicles must meet several criteria to qualify for the award. They look at factors such as overlap front crashes, roof strength, and front crash prevention systems. The Envision is available with two advanced safety systems.
