IIHS Small SUV Headlight Test Results Not Good

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released results from their new headlight evaluation test, with the focus this time on small SUVs, perhaps the hottest vehicle segment in the market today. Of 21 vehicles tested, not a single one rated “Good”. The best ratings were “Acceptable”, though the majority earned the lowest rating of “Poor”.
The IIHS tests all types of headlights, and measures for distance of illumination, field of view, and glare caused to other vehicles on the road. The best rated small SUV from this round of testing was the Mazda CX-3, equipped with adaptive LED headlights and high beam assist. The rest of the results are listed below:
