Hyundai has revealed a major refresh for the Sonata, boasting some sporty new looks and an altered cabin.

The refreshed Sonata is most noticeably different in the front, thanks to some key modern design elements, reminiscent of the recently unveiled Kona. Inside, the Sonata will boast a new panoramic curved display, among other changes; but, we’ll get back to that.

Outside, the sedan’s sportiness is accentuated by a prominent LED brow running the full width of the frontend, meeting on either side to redesigned headlights. Below it, a new, wider grille provides angular and chiseled out lines in contrast to some of the Sonata’s smoother surfaces. The rear sees new lighting and a spoiler-shaped trunk lid. N Line models will receive a rear spoiler and twin-tip mufflers, plus 19-inch wheels.

The cabin’s biggest draw will likely be the panoramic curved display, comprising two 12.3-inch displays angled in driver-centric fashion. The shifter is now on the steering column, and some of the HVAC controls have been updated as well. According to Hyundai, the interior will also see “tasteful color combinations,” which we assume means some enhancements made to the various interiors.

More details should emerge soon, as Hyundai intends on flaunting the redesigned Sonata at the Seoul Mobility Show, March 30th through April 9th.
