Hyundai IONIQ 5 Dubbed “Green SUV of the Year” by Green Car Journal
Hyundai’s new electric crossover, the 2022 IONIQ 5, received the award for Green SUV of the Year from the Green Car Journal.
The IONIQ 5 was selected by a jury of automotive experts and staff at the Green Car Journal. According to Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of the Green Car Journal, this particular EV has made a statement for Hyundai, featuring a variety of technology and “forward-looking design.”
Among its many features, Hyundai boasts the IONIQ 5’s quick-charging capabilities, with a charge from 10 percent to 80 percent taking just 18 minutes with the appropriate charger. It can also charge small appliances, devices and even other EVs.
Other amenities include eco-friendly materials, memory seats and a heads-up display with augmented reality. Drivers can customize their HUD to project information, such as navigation, in front of them. SmartSense driver assistance systems are also equipped, containing a suite of smart cruise control, forward and blindspot collision-avoidance assist, speed limit assist and more.
