Honda’s 2023 Civic Type-R Debuts This Summer
The Honda Civic Type-R is coming back for the 2023 model year, and the automaker has teased its summer 2022 debut in the best of ways.
In a short video published by Honda, the new Type-R (still covered in camo wrappings) can be seen going all-out on the one-and-only Nürburgring racetrack in Nürburg, Germany. We’ve known about the return of the Type-R for a little while now, but this video gets us excited all over again.
We also get a sneak peak at some of the car’s performance additions; most noticeably, a large wing raised up above the rear deck. Other points of interest include the three-trip exhaust system, the large red Brembo brake calipers and darkened multi-spoke wheels. We can spot some changes in the vehicle’s aero-elements, but we’ll have to wait until the official reveal for an up-close and undisguised look.
The Type-R is almost here, and we’ll be sure to cover the reveal right here on MotorWeek! In the meantime, catch up with our Road Test of the most recent Type-R.
