A follow up to our story from a few weeks ago regarding New York’s one-year pilot program allowing autonomous vehicles to be tested on public roads, Audi of America is the first company to get the go ahead to start testing autonomous vehicles in the state.   Audi says their tester will have SAE Level 3 capabilities.  Drivers in Albany will see them in a few weeks.

EVs with a Swedish tradition will be on the road soon in China.  National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) will provide a car-sharing and ride hailing program in Tianjin, China, using their new 9-3 EVs.  A concept goes on display next week, with a launch scheduled for next year.  NEVS was founded in 2012 and acquired the main assets of Saab Automobile

For the first time, a Chinese artist has created a BMW Art Car.  It’s based on the BMW M6 GT3. The idea here is the future of mobility.  The BMW Art Car was unveiled at the Minsheng Art Museum in Beijing. We’ll see it on the track at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau in November 2017.
