GMC Debuts Hummer EV SUV During March Madness-Adds Details
General Motors used the setting of the NCAA March Madness men's final-four collage basketball tournament to publicly introduce the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV. The SUV joins the 2023 Hummer EV pickup as a two-prong dive into the heavier duty consumer electric vehicle sphere. The initial Edition 1 will be priced just over $100,000 when it arrives in 2023 as a 2024 model. Powered by GM’s Ultimum battery, SUV range will initially be about 300 miles. 100 miles of range can be added in 12 minutes at a DC fast charger. The SUV has an available 800-volt charging capability. The SUV has 9 inches less wheelbase than the pickup. With the available four-wheel steering, the SUV is designed to be more agile both off-road and on-road with a tidy turning diameter of 35.4-feet. Crab Walk mode and one pedal throttle-brake control capability will add new dimensions to off-road driving. Rated at 830 horsepower, street 0-60 is estimated in 3.5 seconds. The 20-modual battery pack is double stacked to increase the stiffness of the platform while keeping overall size under control. The structured battery pack also allows a flat, expansive cargo area that even includes under floor storage for the removable Infinity roof panels and support bar. The SUV’s rear gate has a slide down window like the pickup, and the gate itself opens to the curb side for exceptional cargo access. The SUV also has the capability to charge another electric vehicle with an onboard 3KW 120-volt generator. You can reserve your GMC Hummer EV SUV now.
