George Jetson’s Car, BMW Charging, And Shanghai Show

Another debut from Auto Shanghai 2017, this one from Aston Martin. The Rapide AMR 4-door sports car gets its inspiration from racing. The British brand says they’ll only make 270 examples, but not to worry; they also plan on having an AMR performance version of every Aston Martin model.
If you own an electric car, it may be a little easier to keep it charged next time you’re on vacation. BMW Group is working with the National Park Service and others to install up to 100 EV charging stations in and around America’s national parks. The first charging station has already been installed at Thomas Edison National Historical Park in New Jersey. Check out our previous story on this public-private partnership. The National Park Service celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. Organizers are exploring other sites for the charging stations.
But why drive when you can fly? That’s the idea behind this 4-passenger CityHawk being planned by Metro Skyways Ltd. Their idea is a vehicle that would eventually fly autonomously and be fueled by hydrogen. The company says it could take five years to develop. Rumor has it George Jetson has already put down a deposit and will be among the first to receive one.
