A lot has been written about the outstanding capabilities of the Genesis G70 sport sedan which was honored as MotorWeek’s 2019 Drivers’ Choice Award for Best Luxury Car, as well as being the 2019 North American Car of the Year. While based on the also impressive Kia Stinger, the G70’s shortened wheelbase makes it even more of a driver’s car. Now, for 2021, Genesis is giving the G70 updates to bring it more inline with the latest in corporate styling and feature content. What is most immediately apparent is the revised crest grille and front facia now featuring the brand’s signature Quad lamps with super thin LEDs. The Quad lamp theme also adorns the rear. Inside buyers will find a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, an also larger instrument cluster, and faster wireless smartphone charging. New acoustic glass for the windshield and front door glass also makes the 2021 Genesis G70 a quieter place in which to hold a hands-free conversation. While there are few significant mechanical changes, all models gain a new “Sports+” drive mode, and the 3.3-liter turbocharge V6 with Sports package adds a Variable Exhaust Valve System. In addition, the optional Dynamic AWD system now includes a built-in drift mode. Look for sales of the 2021 Genesis G70 to begin here early in the new year.
