Updating the teaser shots released earlier this month, the Genesis GV80, the brand’s first SUV, is now official and already on sale in its native Korea. Genesis says the “V” stands for versatility.  Until this point, the new luxury brand has only offered a line-up of three sedans. Immediately you’ll notice the GV80 wears the crest grille that debuted on their flagship sedan the G90 at the LA Auto Show a couple of months ago.  The grille is flanked by quad lamps. The interior is a blend of modern minimalism with a rotating electronic gear selector, fewer physical buttons, a new touch screen climate control, and slim air vents. The emphasis on width is a design feature they’ve shown in their sedans. While a diesel will be available in global markets, when the GV80 arrives here later this year expect a choice between a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, and a 2.5-liter turbocharged I4. Expect all-wheel drive to be either optional or standard depending on trim level.
