Ford Will Crank Your V8-Powered F-150 up to 700 HP with New FP700 Packages
June 5, 2023The annual Ford Nationals car show and swap meet, an East Coast mecca for Blue Oval enthusiasts, saw the debut of two new packages for 2021-23 F-150 pickups equipped with the 5.0-liter V8, both of which spice things up to a staggering 700 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
They are aptly named the Ford Performance FP700 packages, and they’re available in two flavors: The “Black Edition” and the “Bronze Edition.” Chances are you can guess what they entail, but more on that in a bit.
The most important part shared by both is the 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, used to achieve the aforementioned 700 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Any 2021-23 F-150 XL, XLT, Lariat or Platinum equipped with the 5.0-liter V8 can be outfitted with either pack and, since it was developed and engineered by Ford Performance, it comes with a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty when installed by either a Ford Dealer or ASE-certified technician. These packages are not for use with trucks outfitted with the Pro Power option or 8-foot bed, but that’s really the only major restriction. The FP700 can even be equipped on both 4×2 or 4×4 models.
Each package also includes an F-150 rear lowering kit, a black painted grille, fender vents, special graphics and badging, and 22”x9.5” wheels, among other addons. As the names suggest, the differences come by way of titular aesthetics. The Black Edition features darkened wheels and graphics, while the Bronze edition boasts appropriately colored accents.
On top of the base FP700 changes, there’s a list of optional add-ons that can be equipped. Some of the more notable ones include a sport exhaust, a new exhaust mid-pipe, a black roof spoiler, tailgate spoiler, and a soft Tonneau cover for the 5.5-foot bed.
Retail price of the base package will run $12,350. Tires for those new wheels are not included, so tack on a little more for your go-to brand of tires. And, of course, be sure to factor in labor.
