Ford reportedly plans to charge up the crossover and SUV market. Automotive News is reporting Ford plans to offer an Escape plug-in hybrid, a Ford Expedition hybrid, a Lincoln Navigator hybrid, and a Lincoln MKC plug-in hybrid in 2019. Ford has ambitions to bring 13 vehicles with electric motors to the market during the next 5 years.
Hyundai could soon have something for pickup fans. Forbes is reporting decision makers in Seoul have approved a small pickup. We saw a Santa Cruz crossover truck concept at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. No official word yet on when American drivers can get behind the wheel.
Mazda is making refinements to the 2018 Mazda CX-3. The subcompact crossover will come standard with Smart City Brake Support. The system automatically applies the brakes in emergency situations below 19 mph. It’s already offered on the Mazda3 and CX-5. The company says the chassis and steering have been thoroughly revised. The 2018 Mazda CX-3 is on sale now in some places. Look for it across the country next month starting at $20,110.
