Unveiled in 2017 as the halo performance car and first model of Volvo's electric-first sub-brand, the Polestar 1 will see the completion of its 2-year production towards the end of 2021, and final build slots are now available for order. Polestar 1 was planned from the beginning to be a limited-run model and a showcase for the technology and style direction of the Polestar brand.

Polestar 1 features crisp-edged design and a state-of-the-art hybrid drive train.  With 34 kWh of battery capacity, Polestar 1 boasts the longest pure-electric driving range of any hybrid – 60 miles. The car features two electric motors on the rear axle, complemented by a 2.0-liter supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine, plus an integrated starter generator at the front, With 619 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque available.  A carbon fiber body, 6-piston Akebono brakes and adjustable Öhlins dampers, as well as advanced features such as mechanical torque vectoring, it delivers on its promise of grand touring excitement while being very usable in everyday situations as a low-emissions electrified vehicle.
