The changing landscape in the automotive industry promises exciting new options in mobility, but there are also casualties along the way. The final Chevrolet Cruze has rolled off the line at the GM Lordstown Assembly Plant in Warren, Ohio. In November, GM announced the plant was on the list to be idled as part of the company’s transformation.
Like other automakers, GM has been refocusing capital and resources to support the growth in demand for crossovers, SUVs and trucks. The company’s transformation also includes doubling the resources allocated to electric and autonomous vehicle programs during the next two years.
