Ferrari’s fastest car yet, a Lotus tribute, and Ford’s big surprise move
February 17, 2017
More hype is building for the 87th annual Geneva Motor Show, and no one gets people more excited than Ferrari. They've announced their fastest car EVER will debut there: the 812 Superfast. Powered by a new 6.5-liter V12 engine, the 812 will produce around 788 horsepower. We'll hope, and pray, and do whatever else we have to to get behind the wheel. Stay tuned for more on this.
Lotus, meanwhile, is going old-school with their newest car. The Evora Sport 410, which came out last year, has been decked out in some retro and highly recognizeable livery honoring their Esprit S1. You may remember the original Esprit S1 from the Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me. This special edition Evora Sport 410 still packs the same 410-hp and lightweight performance.
Ford is taking autonomous driving one step further than most probably want it to...accoridng to Automotive News, Ford will remove the steering wheel, and gas and brake pedals from their driverless cars starting in 2021. They claim that engineers have been falling asleep during testing, as the vehicles become more capable and there's less for the humans to actually control. Whether it's a vote of confidence for their autonomous technologies or not remains to be seen by the public.
