Ford is moving ahead with their electric strategy. The blue oval company has announced an ambitious charging system for electrified vehicles. Ford plans a public charging network, with more than 12,000 places to charge, including fast charging, and more than 35,000 charge plugs. The idea is to address one of the main concerns customers have about EVs… where to find a place to charge.
The strategy also includes a 48-amp Ford Connected Charge Station, which they say can fully power a vehicle overnight. Ford is teaming up with Amazon Home Services to offer installation of home charging setups.
Ford also says every all-electric vehicle will come standard with a Ford Mobile Charger that can operate on a 240 or 120-volt electrical outlet. Ford is investing $11.5 billion in electrified vehicles through 2022 with a Mustang-inspired SUV arriving next year.
