Dodge Goes Widebody on the 2020 Charger
June 28, 2019
We were on hand at FCA's Chelsea Proving Grounds as Dodge unveiled the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody edition along with a new Scat Pack Widebody.
The SRT Hellcat still boasts 707 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque from their supercharged 6.2 liter HEMI V8 engine. With a top speed of 196 miles per hour this Charger stays at the top of the list as the most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world. With the new Widebody package adding 3.5-inches in width there is room for more rubber to meet the road. It does so with Pirelli 305/35ZR20 tires wrapped around 20-inch x 11-inch wheels. All this power paired with more rubber helps the Hellcat to go from 0-60 MPH in only 3.6 seconds with a claimed 10.96 second quarter mile.
The Scat Pack Widebody model makes use of the 392 cubic inch HEMI V-8 that pumps out 485 horsepower. With a slightly slower, but still impressive 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of 12.4 seconds, this model can be seen as the best "bang for your buck" Challenger.
Dealer orders will open this fall of 2019 and they will begin to arrive at dealerships in early 2020.
