Digital recall notices may be coming to a screen near you
September 1, 2016
You could find out a little faster about repairs your car needs.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is considering a proposal requiring car companies to send recall notices to car owners electronically. Some of the options include email, text messages, social media and, perhaps most directly, right to your car. Safety officials say they’re looking at a variety of electronic notification options. This would be in addition to sending the notices by first class mail. NHTSA says the goal is to increase the number of cars that receive the recall repairs.
