Delphi is adding to their talent pool as they develop autonomous driving technology. The company has announced they’re buying nuTonomy, Inc. for $400 million. The deal will add 100 employees to Delphi, while accelerating and expanding their new mobility business. By combining forces, Delphi plans to have 60 autonomous cars on the road across three continents by the end of the year.
Volkswagen’s diesel headaches may be a little less costly. Reuters is reporting U.S. and California regulators have approved a fix for some Volkswagen AG 3.0-liter SUVs with potential excess emissions. They say the decision would cover about 38,000 vehicles and save the automaker more than $1 billion. Reuters points out Volkswagen is still waiting for approval to fix 3.0-liter diesel passenger cars.
Porsche is drawing on inspiration from the past. The company has announced the new 2018 911 Carrera T. The "T" stands for Touring. The inspiration comes from the 1968 911 T. The twin-turbo 3.0 flat-six engine produces 370 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque. A manual transmission is standard, a PDK is an option. Porsche says the 911 Carrera T is the lightest model in the 911 Carrera range. Look for it in U.S. dealers by March 2018 starting at $102,100.
