Leuxs and Toyota score well in Consumer Reports latest reliability survey.

The two brands rank one and two, respectively, in reliability. A surprise number three is Buick. Full listings by brand are below:


The organization looked at more than half a million vehicles made up of more than 300 models.  They extended their look back from 10 years to 16 years.  Consumer Reports says they examined 17 different types of problems using their own road tests and input from car owners.

Their scoring also changed.  It’s now on a scale of 0 to 100.  The Toyota Prius tops this year’s list of the 10 most reliable cars, followed by the Lexus CT 200h and the Infiniti Q70. 

In terms of industry trends, CR lists some bullet points of growing issues, including Tesla's worrisome implementation and marketing of their Autopilot semi-autonomous driving system.
