2020 Chrysler Pacifica Launch Edition Signals Return to AWD Minivans
Fiat-Chrysler just could not wait it seems. After already announcing that the refreshed 2021 Chrysler Pacifica minivan would offer an all-wheel drive option, a niche they began, and then abandoned, FCA is now taking orders for a special 2020 Chrysler Pacifica AWD Launch Edition before the many other 2021 updates are in place. The 2020 AWD is available in only one trim level, Touring L, but along with the added all-weather traction, the Launch Edition also includes all other drivetrain improvements scheduled for 2021. MSRP pricing is rather modest as large people movers go, at $40,240. Along with slow sales, another reason the company’s old AWD minivan got the axe was the inability to package the system with the innovative fold-into-the-floor Stow’N’Go seating. But, with all-weather capability now increasingly in demand, the new mechanical, fully automatic AWD system was designed to accommodate the highly popular seating feature. So. there is now no sacrifice in interior flexibility when going AWD. The only other minivan offered with AWD is the Toyota Sienna, which is being totally redesigned for 2021. The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Launch Edition will reach dealers starting late this summer.
