If you own a Ford Mustang of any era, of any trim, of any displacement, Ford wants you to join in on “The Stampede,” a rolling celebration surrounding the seventh-generation Mustang’s September 14th debut.

The Blue Oval is putting out a call to all Mustang owners across the country (and even the world, if you can manage it): fill your tanks, get in gear, and cruise over to the Ford World Headquarters in Detroit on the day of the debut. At 5:00 PM EDT, all ponies will gallop, convoy style, to Detroit’s Hart Plaza to celebrate the next-gen Mustang.

There will be food, music and entertainment, and even an after party for those interested. Any interested Mustang owners can register now; however, it is on a first come, first serve basis. If you aren’t able to attend, all the happenings will be livestreamed through Ford’s official YouTube channel and the Ford Mustang Facebook page.

Ford is collaborating with America’s Automotive Trust and the Detroit Auto Show for a cross-country adventure called The Drive Home. This is an annual roadtrip taking vintage vehicles from Tacoma, WA, to Detroit, MI, prior to the Detroit Auto Show. This year, the drive will be open exclusively to Mustang enthusiasts. The roadmap and the various stops can be found on the official site.

We’re excited to see what Ford has planned for the seventh-gen Mustang. We’ll keep you up to speed on the reveal, plus any other news coming out of the Detroit Auto Show, right here, so stay tuned to MotorWeek! And in the meantime, check out some of our more recent Mustang roundups, like the 2020 Bullitt and the 2021 Mach-E GT Performance Edition. You can go back to the past with Retro Reviews of the '84 Mustang SVO or the 2000 Cobra R, or watch our FYI Reporter Stephanie Hart celebrate them all at the National Mustang Day celebration at the AACA Museum in Hershey, PA.
