Bentley and ‘The Surgeon’ Reveal One-of-One Flying Spur Hybrid
Bentley has unveiled a bespoke Flying Spur Hybrid curated by the “The Surgeon” at Art Basel Miami.
The unveiling of this model follows the recent launch of a limited edition line of Bentley-inspired sneakers, crafted by Dominic Ciambrone, AKA “The Surgeon,” a well known player in the custom shoe scene. The whole launch serves as a highlight of what Bentley is capable of creating through their bespoke design services.
When creating this luxury cruiser, Ciambrone opted for a duo-tone paint finish of Anthracite over Anthracite Satin, serving as the primary foundation. The Mulliner Blackline spec replaces some of the polished chrome bits with all-black instead; while additional trimmings, such as the front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser and rear lip spoiler, are carbon fiber. Still, the monochromatic theme is contrasted by a sparing use of Satin Bronze, including the bespoke pinstripe which can also be seen on the outer rim of the 22-inch Satin Anthracite wheels.
But as exquisite as the Flying Spur Hybrid is on the outside, the real joy of riding in a Bentley is… well, riding in a Bentley. As such, this model goes all out– both in terms of taste and uniqueness. The clean white “Linen” seats starkly contrast the exterior with a sort of “yin and yang”-esque motif, while the bronze contrast stitching ties it back into the theme. “Surgeon” is embroidered in bronze on the seats, his logo on the headrests. The walnut veneer spreads throughout the cabin; upfront, a laser-etched pattern of Surgeon’s skull and scalpel logo repeats on the dash.

It wasn’t that long ago when we tested out the Flying Spur Hybrid during a first drive event in Beverly Hills. The 2.9-liter V6 engine, paired with the hybrid E-Motor, provided plenty of power for this uber-luxurious saloon. We mentioned back then how the Hybrid served as a competent step in Bentley’s plan to go full-electric, and with the ability to craft such bespoke units such as this Surgeon crossover, it stands to reason that luxury buyers will continue to enjoy the brand’s offerings.
Speaking of buying, well, the price on this one-off model wasn’t shared, though the “base” Flying Spur Hybrid starts just over $200,000, so we imagine this to go for a little more. On the bright side, the buyer will also receive a limited edition pair of Bentley x The Surgeon sneakers.
