Toyota has announced the return of the Nightshade Edition, available on the 2024 Corolla sedan, hatchback and hybrid.

Those up to date with their Corolla lore are more than likely familiar with the Nightshade treatment, having been available before and being absent for the ’23 model year. You may also recognize that this is the first time the edition is available on the hybrid model.

On either the sedan, hatchback or hybrid, the Nightshade Edition starts off as an SE grade. As the name implies, blacked-out badging and various accents adorn the body. Upfront, Toyota has fitted a sport mesh grille, reflecting light with its gloss black finish. The side profile is distinguished by black painted side rocker panels and mirrors; in back, the shark fin antenna, rear lip spoiler and lower diffuser also see a similar color (or lack thereof). The hatchback receives a vented sport wing and a two-toned roof.

Usually, blacked-out appearance packages provide a stealthy vibe for whichever car they grace. And while that’s still true for the ‘24 Corolla, it’s hard to stay under the radar with all that style– particularly emanating from the bronze-finished 18-inch wheels, contrasting against all the darkened accents. As expected, color choice is limited to just a few: Midnight Black Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic and Ice Cap– you can guess which color that is.

The interior on all models should be roughly the same– Sport seats with fabric inserts, a 4.2-inch display with the gauges and an eight-inch infotainment screen on the center stack. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard; those looking for a little extra bass can opt for the 800-watt JBL Premium Audio Package. The SE Premium package adds a power tilt/slide moonroof and wireless charging, among additional safety features.

Nightshade Editions are expected to arrive this fall.
