More automakers are ramping up for the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Most recently, it's Audi. They released sketches of the Q8 concept:

 

If you've never heard of the Q8 before, that's because it's all-new, and set to stand as the flagship of Audi's SUV line. To quote them directly, "“With the Audi Q8 concept, we have created a new spearhead within our Q model line. Its design strongly evokes sportiness and prestige,” said Audi Head of Design Marc Lichte. “What’s more, we believe an important aspect of this showcar is that it offers a spacious interior with four equally comfortable seats, even with the flat roof line.” We'll see more in January!

 

Uber has ended it's self-driving pilot program in San Francisco. According to multiple sources, including Engadget, the California DMV has revoked the registrations of the "self-driving" vehicles. Uber's statement on the issue: "We have stopped our self-driving pilot in California as the DMV has revoked the registrations for our self-driving cars. We're now looking at where we can redeploy these cars but remain 100 percent committed to California and will be redoubling our efforts to develop workable statewide rules." Uber disagrees with the DMV's classifications of self-driving and autonomous vehicles. 

Hyundai Motor America (HMA) has terminated CEO Dave Zuchowski, and named Jerry Flannery as interim President and CEO. Flannery will still serve as HMA's Chief Legal and Safety Officer. He's quoted as saying, "We appreciate Dave’s decade of service to Hyundai, especially his leadership as president and CEO, which has made us a stronger organization...I look forward to working closely with our dealers, affiliates, senior management and our talented and hard-working employees across the country to realize Hyundai’s full potential.”
