Audi Expands A6 Avant Lineup to Include Plug-In Hybrid
Audi has announced a plug-in hybrid version for the popular A6 Avant full-size station wagon, though we have yet to confirm when it might arrive in U.S. showrooms to join the A6 Allroad and the eagerly-anticipated 2021 A6 Avant RS. Intelligent drive management with a predictive operating strategy enables the new Audi A6 Avant 55 TFSI e quattro to achieve an electric-only range of around 31 miles. The Audi A6 Avant PHEV comes with a comprehensive list of standard equipment, including the S line exterior package, Audi virtual cockpit, and Matrix LED headlights as well as sport suspension and sport seats. Its drive train combines a 2.0-liter TFSI engine with 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque with a powerful electric motor. Together with the separating clutch, it is integrated into a seven-speed S tronic, which transfers the drive torque to a quattro drivetrain. The Audi A6 Avant PHEV thus has permanently available all-wheel drive for an equally high level of traction and dynamic handling.
