There’s more shifting within the Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi Alliance since the arrest of former chairman Carlos Ghosn. They have announced a new Alliance operating board. Renault Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard will act as Chairman of the new board, which will include the CEOs of Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi Motors. The board will oversee the operations of the three companies to “enhance and ensure further collaboration” making “consensus-based” decisions.
Renault has had a 20-year partnership with Nissan, and now includes Mitsubishi Motors. Ghosn was recently released from jail in Japan after his arrest in November over allegations that include understating his income. Since then, Renault has separated the functions of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.
The Alliances’ new board intends to meet every month in Paris or Tokyo.
