2024 Chevrolet Traverse Debuts with Aggressive, Truck-Like Style
July 20, 2023Chevrolet has debuted the 2024 Traverse three-row crossover, kicking off the third-generation with a new engine, available Super Cruise and more truck-ish styling.
The Traverse comes in four trims: LS, LT, RS and, for the first time ever, an off-road focused Z71 trim level. The Z71 follows a growing auto industry trend of off-road ready crossover trim levels, and comes with all-terrain tires, an additional inch of ground clearance, unique dampers, skid plates, tow hooks, and a Terrain Mode. But the biggest change is a new twin-clutch all-wheel drive system, only on the Z71, which Chevy says maximizes grip in rough conditions.
All Traverse trims are powered by a new 2.5 liter turbocharged inline-4, producing an estimated 315 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, and paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Traverse comes standard with two-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is an option. With the right configuration, the Traverse can trailer up to 5,000 lbs.
Inside, the Traverse is considerably overhauled, headlined by a standard 17.7 inch touchscreen. GM’s semi-autonomous Super Cruise system is available as an option, joined by a standard active safety features including automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, and lane keep assist
The 2024 Traverse is scheduled to go on sale in early 2024. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the 2023 Traverse starts at $35,915 including destination.
