2018 Ford Fiesta revealed, Audi high performance gets new name, and a Tesla rival takes big steps
November 30, 2016
They say big things come in small packages. That could be true for the redesigned Ford Fiesta, which Ford of Europe revealed recently. The next generation of this subcompact will come with technology you’d probably expect in a roomier ride… like Pedestrian Detection, Active Park Assist and B&O PLAY Sound System. Ford is also giving Fiesta aficionados four new versions to choose from, including the Fiesta Active - a crossover version of the car. Keep in mind these are European models and specs. No word yet on what we get over here for the 2018 Fiesta.
A new name with the same high standards for high performance at Audi. "quattro GmbH" will now be known as "Audi Sport GmbH". The subsidiary of Audi AG has been in business since 1983. The core of this part of the business is making the Audi R8 and RS models.
A new contender in the electric car market has found a home. Lucid Motors has announced their new factory will be in Casa Grande, Arizona. They looked at more than 60 sites in 13 states. The company says location and business climate led to their decision. Lucid Motors plans to break ground next year, and begin building their first luxury EV in 2018. Hopefully we'll hear more, soon, on this potential new player.
