The Chicago Auto Show is a big deal for MotorWeek - it's where we give out our annual Drivers' Choice Awards, including our Best of the Year. You can find all of those winners here.
But the McCormick Place convention center also played host to nearly every automotive manufacturer, and some new debuts.
The biggest healdine came from Ford, who showed off the 2018 Expedition. Nearly 300 pounds lighter than the outgoing model, the '18 Expedition is made of an aluminum body and steel frame. An extended wheelbase "Max" version was shown alongside it. Both will go on sale this fall.
Dodge showed a bruising SUV of its own: the Durango SRT. Using FCA's 6.4-liter HEMI V8, the truck packs 475-hp. Buying the vehicle also gets you a day at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.
Chevrolet debuted a new trim line across many of its vehicles: the Redline series. Red and black accents are featured throughout, including blacked out bow-tie emblems and black wheels with red hash marks.
The Redline package will be available on the following Chevys:
Cruze LT (sedan and hatchback) Malibu LT Camaro LT/SS (coupe and convertible) Trax LT Equinox LT Traverse Premier Colorado LT Silverado Double Cab LT Z71, Crew Cab LTZ Z71
Toyota gave some love to the Tundra and Sequoia by releasing a TRD Sport line for each model. In addition to unique trim accents, the models get new anti-sway bars and Bilstein shocks.
Toyota also showed off the RAV4 Adventure, which gets its own unique trim accents and special wheels.
The Nissan Titan, which won MotorWeek's Best Pickup Truck award, gets expanded more with the debut of the King Cab version. Available on the regular or XD models, the King Cab offers seating for up to six.
Mopar, celebrating its 80th anniversary, got its hands on a pair of Dodge Challengers for the occasion. Two special-edition color schemes are being offered: Pitch Black/Contusion Blue and Pitch Black/Billet Siver. Only 80 of each are being sold. Powered by the 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8, these Challengers make 485-hp and feature a Mopar cold-air intake.
