When the Porsche 911 turned 60, the limited S/T variant was unleashed, serving as both a throwback to the 911 S of the 1960s and a new, modern-day performance niche for the iconic sports car. As you can imagine, most of the 1,963 units have been already reserved; but one, number 1,919, is still up for grabs, officially open for bidding in a Sotheby’s no-reserve auction.

Sweetening the deal is the fact that all proceeds from this auction will go to the American Red Cross. This money will be used to support the group’s disaster relief efforts, including those impacted by the recent floods in North Carolina and wildfires in California. Along with the car, the winner will secure a Porsche Design timepiece and an owner’s manual pouch signed by Adreas Preuninger, director of the GT model line.

This particular 911 is, according to Porsche, the only S/T to be sold from Porsche Cars North America’s (PCNA) internal vehicle pool to date, along with being the only example not yet reserved by a customer. Unregistered, this is a zero-owner car, though the odometer will reflect 956 miles, most of which attributed to a break-in checklist conducted by Porsche’s prep team in Stuttgart, Germany.

A 4.0-liter flat-six engine rated at 518 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission constitute the powertrain, the engine being, of course, rear mounted and power delivered there too. Mechanically, this 911 is all modern Porsche, and while the same can be said for a majority of the bodywork, the 992 generation’s sculpting is covered in throwback elements. The Heritage Design Package, which is actually optional for this commemorative car, unlocked the exclusive Shore Blue Metallic paint and Ceramica-finished wheels. The Porsche crests found across the vehicle sport the same design as the original 911, including the crests embroidered on the headrests of the cloth bucket seats. Other features to note is a front axle lift system, an extended range 23.7-gallon fuel tank and a Bose audio system.

Whatever this Porsche timepiece (both the car and the watch) ends up going for is anyone’s guess, but if you’re serious about putting a bid in, you have until Thursday, February 20, to make it happen.
