Toyota Camry Joins Nightshade Coven for ‘26
May 1, 2025The Toyota Camry entered a new generation for 2025, bringing with it a bold new style and an all-hybrid powertrain lineup that impressed us so much that we gave it the gold for “Best Family Car” in our 2025 Drivers’ Choice Awards. It would only make sense for Toyota to rest on their laurels for a year or two; but as we all know, the auto industry hinges on innovation, no matter how small, which no doubt led to a new Nightshade Edition for the 2026 Camry.
Toyota’s Nightshade treatment has been applied to a number of vehicles already, this ninth-generation Camry being the latest. It applies Midnight Black Metallic paint to a number of exterior bits, most notably the grille, mirror caps, door handles, and rear spoiler and diffuser. Unique 19-inch wheels, finished in black, of course, are included, behind which is a sport-tuned suspension system akin to that which is found on the SE and XSE grades.
While Midnight Black Metallic can also be applied to the rest of the bodywork, so can Ice Cap (white) and Supersonic Red. A new shade, Dark Cosmos, is also arriving for ‘26; however, this hazy blue is unavailable on the Nightshade, despite having a name that would make you think it would be. You can get that paint on SE, XLE and XSE trims.
Pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed, but we suspect the Nightshade will cost an extra grand or so over an SE, putting it under $35,000 with delivery.
