Porsche Adds Cayenne GTS for 2025; Other Model Year Changes Announced
May 22, 2024Having just undergone a meaningful update for 2024, the Porsche Cayenne is getting even better for the 2025 model year, and that includes the return of the performance-oriented GTS model.
The Cayenne GTS, now available to order in the U.S., will be made in both the SUV and Coupe body styles, though both versions benefit from the same performance enhancements. Beyond that, the GTS will receive some distinguishing marks to separate it from other Cayennes, all of which gain some new standard equipment.
The GTS is powered by a twin-turbo V8, delivering 493 horsepower to its water-cooled all-wheel-drive system. Porsche is claiming a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds, hitting a top speed of 171 mph if enough track is laid out in front. Keeping all that might down to the tarmac is a two-chamber/two-valve suspension system, partially hidden by the 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels.
And those rims are just one of the distinguishing features, joined by a standard Sport Design Package which includes unique rocker panels, window surrounds, wheel arch extensions and front fascia inlays, painted in high-gloss black. The Sport Exhaust System’s tips are finished in a dark bronze, distinct from the typical black. An adaptive rear spoiler is also standard. For a little more excitement, Porsche is offering a few weight saving options: A lightweight roof, a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, and the exclusion of certain sound deadening materials. At best, Porsche is claiming a weight reduction of up to 55 pounds. The GTS interior sports a variety of components finished in Race Tex, wrapping the armrests, door panels, GT Sport steering wheel, seat inserts and roofliner.
GTS or not, 2025 Cayenne buyers will receive a number of upgrades now considered standard equipment, including an ambient lighting system, a surround view with active parking support, and soft close doors. There’s also an improved cabin air filter. Not much is changing on the outside; the optional Premium Package Plus will now include HD-Matric Design LED headlights, and Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrids will sport various pieces finished in the “Turbonite” color, including the hood-mounted Porsche crest.
The 2025 Porsche Cayenne starts at $86,695, including destination, with the new GTS slotting somewhere in the middle of all the trims at $126,895. For flat-out performance, the range-topping Turbo GT, which we track tested earlier this year, is your high-speed, high-dollar ticket, starting at $205,795.
