Las Vegas, where people go to win big and where automakers go to win the hearts of consumers at through venues like SEMA and CES, the latter of which is ongoing this week. Honda is among those present at CES 2025, and they’ve brought two prototype models: the Honda 0 Saloon and 0 SUV.

Part of Honda’s new 0 Series portfolio, both the Saloon and SUV debut the future of the automaker’s electric vehicle efforts. Both models are confirmed for production in 2026, to be assembled at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, first launching in North America before eventually making their way to global markets.

The Saloon is touted as the 0 Series flagship model, building off the concept shown at CES 2024; while the SUV, mid-size in stature, will enter production first, also being the first model assembled using Honda’s new EV architecture. A “Thin, Light, and Wise” design philosophy was used to craft both prototypes, providing an appropriately spacious and tech-forward cabin. While powertrain details are yet to be disclosed, we know a “by-wire” integration of steering, suspension and braking systems will be implemented. Furthermore, the 0 Series will adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port for compatibility with America’s growing charging infrastructure.

The 0 Series will also come equipped with Honda’s new operating system, ASIMO OS. Like the vehicle’s new physical architecture, this digital architecture was designed in-house, using lessons learned from their ASIMO robotics project that first debuted at CES over two decades prior. ASIMO OS, supported by over-the-air updates, will oversee various vehicle systems, including automated driving, driver assistance systems and infotainment. With the aim of safer commuting, an embedded system will enable “the expansion of the range of driving conditions where driver assistance and Level 3 automated driving will be available.” Level 3 will allow drivers to “perform a “second task”” while driving– something as productive as joining a remote work meeting to as nonchalant as catching up on your “need to watch” movies list.

Two important developments supporting the 0 Series portfolio involve energy services and the aforementioned architecture. Regarding the latter, Honda and Renesas Electronics Corporation have partnered to create high-performance chips to power their future vehicles. A “electrical/electronic” architecture will combine multiple ECUs into one single core unit, controlling various vehicle functions. As for energy services, Honda has partnered with eight other automakers to create an ew IONNA charging network, providing 30,000 or more chargers by 2030 on top of NACS-network compatibility. During home charging, expected to encompass 80% of EV charging, the Series 0 will recoup energy when electricity costs are low and return energy to the grid when prices are high.

We’ll keep you posted on Honda’s 0 Series products as more details emerge closer to their 2026 launch.
