When the seventh-generation Ford Mustang was announced in September 2022, it was made clear that America’s longest running and last standing pony car would not only continue to thrive in motorsports, but reach for new heights. That would be done through new GT3 and GT4 variants, and, as we’ve since learned, an insane GT-D model.

The Mustang GT3 is getting ready for its racing debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, coming up this January. We knew the Blue Oval meant business, but this new YouTube docuseries is showing us what they have in stock.

Mustang Endurance is a five part series detailing the development process of the Mustang GT3. Viewers get a look behind the scenes at what it takes to develop a GT3 race variant of a street vehicle, backed up by interviews with key players– techs, designers, drivers, and more. Don’t worry, it’s not all talk. There are plenty of shots of the Mustang GT3 buzzing the camera, with the nat-sounds of the 5.0-liter Coyote-based V8 to go with them.

“We go racing for many reasons, not least of which is to win important races and championships and to drive brand value back to our business,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “This is Mustang’s 60th anniversary in 2024, and I can think of no better way to celebrate this global performance icon than to put it to the test in the harshest environments. I am proud of the incredible team who have made this happen and this documentary celebrates their dedication and hard work to get us on the grid in January.”

Even if you’re not crazy about the Mustang, it’s nevertheless impressive to see how much work goes into a project this grand. So, car geeks and Ford Fanatics alike, enjoy.
