Volkswagen has been operating in America for 75 years, starting post-war in 1949 and evolving with the times ever since. From the original Beetle to the latest ID. Buzz and everything in between, a new museum exhibit at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, celebrates all of it.

“Das Museumsprogramm: Past, Present and Future” is a physical telling of Volkswagen of America’s 75 year history, featuring a number of classic models that made VW what it is today. The exhibit began on December 14, 2024, and will extend to January 12, 2025.

With support from Volkswagen, the Simeone Museum has acquired a curated selection of vehicles, including some of the German automaker’s most iconic, influential and important models. That includes a 1949 Beetle, a ‘67 21-Window Bus, an ‘84 GTI and the all-electric 2025 ID. Buzz. While celebrating Volkswagen’s American presence is at the forefront, the exhibit can be seen as a celebration of Volkswagen’s global significance as well.
